Nanjing Road 南京路 is the main shopping street of Shanghai. A one-kilometer section is reserved for pedestrians. Nanjing Road is considered the Chinese Champs-Élysées. It is a must-see on a visit to Shanghai. Since Nanjing Road starts at the Bund, these two sites are generally visited in the same outing.
Nanjing Road is divided into two parts: the east part 南京东路 and the west part 南京西路 . The east part, which starts at the Bund and extends over 1500 meters, is the most interesting to visit.
